Has Federer's era waned away?

Roger Federer, once known as the God of Tennis,is no longer considered to be invincible.Tennis critics are now sure that Federer's era of invincibility is gone.He is no longer capable of dominating men's tennis as he used to do during 2004-2007.The media puts him down after his every loss in such a humiliating manner as if he has lost in the first round to a player ranked outside top 100!Tennis followers, mainly the non-Federer fans now criticize Federer's fans for having blind faith in their champion and not accepting the truth that Federer has lost his edge and his tennis is no longer flawless.

I still doubt whether all the above said opinions about Roger Federer are true or not.Only time will give the answer to my question.Yet,being an ardent fan of the great Roger Federer,I don't believe in what the world says. The reality is that I don't care what the world thinks or says. For me,Roger Federer is still the best player in the world. He is still the champion for me today in the same manner he used to be for the world during his early twenties. His game is still the most polished and beautiful in the entire tennis fraternity. His forehand is still lethal and his backhand slice still has no comparison. His ground strokes still very powerful and his footwork still sublime. His fluid movement on court has not deteriorated by even an inch.If tennis is a religion,I'll still pray Federer because Federer is indeed the God of this religion. This is the faith in Federer every Federer fan cherishes.

Three successive grand Slam final losses to his arch-nemesis Rafael Nadal on three different surfaces including Roland Garros,Wimbledon and Melbourne Park might have taken away the confidence he used to have before.Nadal might have gained a mental edge over Roger, yet Roger knows what it takes to bounce back with a bang after a heart-breaking defeat.

Nadal must be given the credit he deserves. He's a good player as well as a great athlete. No question about it.But no matter how many wins does he register over Roger,I 'll still root for Roger till the day I breathe my last.Till the fight is over and I see the truth,I would never imagine that Federer is going to lose.Even in my wildest dreams I cannot see Federer lose.Such is the faith of every Federer fan in him.I bet the love and adulation he gets from fans all over the world,no other player will ever be able to.He is class apart and the manner in which he shows his class both on and off court is worthy of accolades.

Nadal may be the Joe Frazier of today-he is young,he is strong and he is winning. But the unparalleled and the legendary Muhammad Ali of tennis is none other than Roger Federer.I am sure history will repeat itself.Just like Muhammad Ali made a remarkable comeback after being beaten by his rival,in the same manner Roger will be definitely back but this time with more strength and aggression.

Failure is bound to happen at some point of one's life-it may be failure at your professional level,or in personal relationships or it may be even in your day to day activities. No force on this earth can stop your encounter with failures. But the outcome is solely dependent on you.If you wish, you can definitely turn the tide in your favor.Someone has rightly said-Failure becomes a success if one learns from it.I also remember Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra's words about defeat that defeats help you to win more rather than wins because you can learn something from your failures, not from your success.

Being a fan,I mean true and loyal fan,it is my duty to have faith in my ideal and support him not only in his glorious times but also in the toughest moments of his life.I love him not only because of his achievements in his profession but also for his attitude and outlook on and off court. I love him for his unmatched positivism and a never-say-die-attitude.I love him for the grit and determination he has,the strong will power and the golden heart he possesses.Nothing can contradict the fact that joys are bound to follow after disappointments if the person does not give up.I have full faith in the Almighty as well as in him and his ability. There is a logic behind every great philosopher's words:
"FAITH IS TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU DO NOT SEE,THE RESULT OF FAITH IS TO SEE WHAT YOU HAD BELIEVED"

Freedom and modernity

My mind has been constantly revolving around "The Mangalore Pub Incident" for sometime among all the other things but today I feel the need to jot down my thoughts on the particular incident.
May be due to a topic given in the college about the Valentine's Day celebration for discussion, the incident has once again made me ponder about it.I know,no one on this world would have supported such an incident but I don't see anything wrong in their concept.I was surprised no one including women leaders opposed such incidents.Instead, they shouted that freedom of women was curbed by some "goondas" of Shri Ram Sena.
It was really very surprising how could they support their going into pub in scanty dresses and drinking and taking drugs when it is not a myth that these places are the breeding grounds of all those things which ,I believe, the world condemns.Or it was a completely wrong belief! After the reactions of most of the people to this incident,I think I was in darkness. But still I cannot convince myself that whatever happened was not correct!

Of course, their way of behaving with those girls was not right,I admit that. But in the name of freedom, these political leaders and even media, which is supposed to remain"unbiased" made a hue and cry about the incident for days and days.I can never believe that they were really concerned about the girls and their "freedom".It was just a move to criticize the government.Even if any murder or rape had happened, then also those so-called nation-servers would have blamed the government for mis-management.

In this way,we are blindly adopting the Western culture without even giving a second thought to it.Our Indian culture is the richest in the world and we should not make it impure without applying our conscience. This culture and civilization have given us an identity in this world, yet we forget it and try to change with the time.I feel change is necessary but in a positive way-a way which won't mark the end of our culture which is a result of thousand years of evolution,a way which does not destroy our life and a way which does not snatch away the decency from us.

We have the freedom of speech guaranteed by our Constitution, but is it correct on our part to use that freedom to abuse someone?Freedom is not meant for misuse,it is that right we have got which should make us more conscientious and wise. But freedom is like fire,if in control can be of great benefit but if uncontrolled, even destroys one's bone and flesh.

So,in the name of modernity and freedom, let us not stop at drinking, let us move a little further-taking drugs, adultery, premarital sex and make sure that we are not stripped off our "modernity" and "freedom".
